March 10
Scripture of the day: "The royal official said to Him, 'Sir, come down before my child dies.' Jesus said to him, 'Go; your son lives.' The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started off. As he was now going down, his slaves met him, saying that his son was living. So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. Then they said to him, 'Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.' So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, 'Your son lives'; and he himself believed and his whole household. This is again a second sign that Jesus performed when He had come out of Judea into Galilee." John 4:49-54
Thought of the day: The official had his own agenda for Jesus. He had traveled to Cana to bring Jesus to his home in Capernaum to heal his dying son. However, Jesus had a different agenda ... one that would require the man to act in faith. The man said, "Come". Jesus sent him home alone with the words, "Go; your son lives." What would have happened if the man had been relentless and unbending in his request? What if he had refused to return home without Jesus?
Challenge of the day: Do you have your own agenda for Jesus? Are you asking Him to be involved in your plans? Or are you asking Him to include you in His plans? Don't miss out on the miraculous by insisting on your own version of His will. Do it His way. You might be surprised.
