Scripture of the day:  "Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.' But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive" John 7:37-39

Thought of the day:  Jesus taught that the Spirit would indwell believers as "rivers of living waters." All believers are baptized into the Body by the Spirit, 1 Corinthians 12:13. The Spirit lives in His temple ... in the body of a believer, 1 Corinthians 6:19. Paul wrote that we should "be filled with the Spirit" Ephesians 5:18. We should be filled with living waters. We should be led by, walk by, pray in, set your minds on, sow to, quench not, and grieve not the Spirit of God.

Challenge of the day:  Some Christians seem to either get drunk with living water or get dehydrated from drinking none. Why do many seek refuge at the extremes? We should not overemphasize the Spirit ... nor should we ignore Him. There is a balance so often missed by many sincere Christians. How are you doing with the Spirit ... with your river of living water? Is it dangerously above flood stage? Or is it a powerless trickle? Do you need to get dehydrated a little? Or do you need to get rehydrated?
