Scripture of the day: "And Jesus answered them, saying, 'The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it to life eternal. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.'"
John 12:23-26
Thought of the day: Jesus told them that the time had come for Him to be glorified. As with a grain of wheat, He had to die and be buried ... to be raised in new life from the grave. However, these verses are also about us. Jesus said, "He who loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life ... will keep it."
Challenge of the day: And He said, "If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me". Jesus called us to follow Him to the cross ... to be crucified with Him. Are you living the crucified life? Paul wrote, "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." Galatians 2:20. Does that describe your life?
