Scripture of the day:  "Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment." Hebrews 6:1-2

Thought of the day:  Too many Christians seem glued to square one. They have their spiritual coattails nailed to the starting line. They have not grown up spiritually. They seem to be content spending all their days in kindergarten. That is not good. Every Christian needs to "press on to maturity". Too many Christians have not moved on to the deeper things of the Word. We need to master the basics first ... and then we need to move beyond them. What are the basic things? They include: "Not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God (being saved again), of instruction about washings (baptism) and laying on of hands (spiritual gifts), and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment (basic prophecy)."

Challenge of the day:  Are you stuck at the starting line? Have you gotten bogged down in the basics? Being an infant in adulthood is not good. Move on beyond the elementary teachings. Press on to maturity. Make a plan for pressing on. Today ... write your plan on a piece of paper. What will you do to press on to maturity?
