Scripture of the day:  "For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy place by the high priest as an offering for sin, are burned outside the camp. Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate. So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come." Hebrews 13:11-14

Thought of the day:   Jesus suffered and died on the cross. He died outside the holy city of Jerusalem ... executed as a common criminal by hostile sinners. For the joy set before Him, He suffered the disgrace and shame of the cross. So, what should our lives be like?

Challenge of the day:  "So, let us go out to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach". To be like Christ is to go outside the camp into the world. To be like Christ is to share in His suffering, shame, and reproach. To be like Christ is to endure the hostility of sinners against yourself. Fix your "eyes on Jesus ... who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame ... Consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." Hebrews 12:2-3. This earth is not your home. Run your race with endurance. Keep pressing on. The finish line is "the city which is to come."
