Scripture of the day:  "But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called 'Today,' so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."
Hebrews 3:13

Thought of the day:  The beginning of that verse can be accurately amplified as: "But encourage, exhort, admonish, beseech, strengthen, console, comfort, instruct, and teach one another." Joseph, a Cyprian Levite, was called Barnabas by the Apostles. The name Barnabas means son of encouragement. Some people think that Barnabas wrote the book of Hebrews. He was an encourager. When he arrived in Antioch, "He rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith." Acts 11:23-24.

Challenge of the day:  Who needs encouragement? Every believer needs encouragement. The weak need it ... and the strong need it. Are you a good man or a good woman? Are you full of the Holy Spirit? Are you full of faith? Then encourage someone today so that he or she will not be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Let us all be encouragers. Be a Barnabas to someone today. Encourage someone to remain true to the Lord.
