Scripture of the day: "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek." Hebrews 6:19-20
Thought of the day: Jesus is our firm, true, and secure hope. He has passed through death into resurrection life. He has passed through the heavens to the throne of God. Jesus is our high priest. We can trust Him because of who He is ... because of what He has done ... and because of where He has gone. He has gone on ahead of us into the presence of the Father. We have hope because in Him we have God's promise of eternal life.
Challenge of the day: Imagine yourself as a small boat being tossed about on the seas of life. Picture it in your mind. And imagine that your anchor has been thrown overboard to secure the boat. However, the rope attached to that anchor doesn't penetrate the surface of the water. It extends upward through and beyond the storm clouds into heaven. Picture it in your mind. Your hope in Jesus is that sure and steadfast anchor. He has gone on ahead. Lay hold of the hope that is set before you.
