Scripture of the day: "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."
Hebrews 11:6
Thought of the day: This verse was written to believers. Read it again with that in mind. We became believers by faith ... and as believers we are to walk by faith. "Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him" Colossians 2:6. Your first step, saving faith, made you acceptable to God. Then your walk of faith makes you pleasing to Him. We must believe that Jesus is God. Jesus said, "Unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." John 8:24. To be pleasing to God, we must also believe that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. His promises give us a sure hope. We must "take hold of the hope set before us." Hebrews 6:18.
Challenge of the day: Too many believers try to please God by good works. However, it is faith that pleases Him. And a faith that pleases God produces good works as an expression of that faith. Too many believers act as if He maybe exists. They live as if their hope of Heaven maybe is true. However, He does exist ... and our hope of Heaven is true. A walk that pleases God does not come from a maybe faith. It comes from an unwavering faith. How is your walk of faith? Is it pleasing to God?
