Scripture of the day: "By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." Hebrews 11:7
Thought of the day: The world was wicked, evil, and violent in the days of Noah. God said to him, "Make for yourself an ark ... I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life" Genesis 6:14,17. Noah knew that God existed. He knew that God kept His promises. He understood what God had told him to do. And his unwavering faith produced obedience. "Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did." Genesis 6:22.
Challenge of the day: Why did God choose Noah? It was because Noah was a righteous man ... because he was blameless in a shameless time ... because he walked with God, Genesis 6:8-9. However, building the ark required great faith. The ark was to be a huge floating barn ... 450' x 75' x 45' (137m x 23m x 14m). Noah had an unwavering faith that produced uncompromising obedience. His faith was pleasing to God. Noah had, "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1. And by his faith, he gained approval. Would God choose you to build an ark? Would you build it? Would your faith gain approval?
