Scripture of the day:  "All these died in faith, without receiving the promises, but having seen them and having welcomed them from a distance, and having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one." Hebrews 11:13-16

Thought of the day:  Abraham and Sarah lived as strangers and exiles on earth. They professed that fact. Such people let others know that they are seeking a different country ... a country of their own ... a better country. Men and women of faith know that this earth is not their home. They are citizens of Heaven living in temporary exile on earth.

Challenge of the day:  We are foreigners on earth. I have been on many mission trips. I was a foreigner in another country, thousands of miles from home, for three months in one year. I traveled light with minimum luggage for maximum mobility ... preaching, teaching, and offering the Gospel in many towns and cities. I carried only the necessities. Travel light and stay mobile to maximize your ministry in normal everyday life. Don't let your possessions slow you down. And stay focused on your real home. Don't keep looking back. Remember that you are just passing through on a mission trip.
