Scripture of the day: "And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them." Hebrews 11:15-16
Thought of the day: Whenever you see a therefore, find out what it is there for. Look at the two facts connected by any therefore. People like Abraham and Sarah don't focus on where they have been in a temporary home. They know that their real home is in Heaven. Therefore ... "God is not ashamed to be called their God". He has prepared a city for them. Their final home is in a "city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God."
Hebrews 11:10.
Challenge of the day: We have numerous temptations to think about this earth as our home ... but it is not our home. Keep focused on your final destination. Then God will not be ashamed to be called your God. Jesus said, "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." John 14:2-3. Then, and only then, will you truly be at home.
